crazy quilt = my life's pattern

My Aunt Sunday has this "crazy quilt" (as I've named it) that just puts this great big 'ole smile on my face each time I cozy up with it. I've tried MANY times
to buy it off of her but have to hold onto the possibility of it being in her will:)

The reason, I figure, that I love this quilt so much is that for me it represents my life. My history. Ya see you have all these fabrics, some beautiful while others have a, well.....what-where-they-thinking-when-they-added-that-one kind of a look. Different shapes and sizes. Some cuts are big, statement pieces while others just kinda get stuffed in a corner.

My history...."crazy" I guess you could say. With such a random collection of experiences from detasseling corn to modeling, from breaking a horse (ground up) to managing a multi-million dollar company, from working at Dairy Queen to working on yachts to traveling the world on cruise ships selling fine art.

(some noteworthy Live Decorated adventures--not all pretty)
  • Traveled standby (Internationally) with no reservations or even a clue
  • got lost on the "wrong side of the tracks" on the Rock of Gibraltar
  • parasailed (is that even a word?)
  • rode a bike around Bora Bora at least 57 times:)
  • toured the most beautiful place in the world (in my eyes) for 6 months
  • spent a month in the Bahamas on a yacht (Harbor Island=favorite)
  • ridden tons of horses, on several continents without incident:)
  • rented an apartment after only 2 hours of being on the island -- Cozumel (love this place  not my video—still trying to recover my pics & videos from my travels)
  • skinny dipped in more waters than I can name (no longer my thing:)
  • kicked, bitten, and thrown from more horses than I can count
  • kept safe by God in the middle of a city wide riot
  • uh, kept safe by God ALL my life...through some super stupid decisions and silly mistakes turned dangerous
  • hospitalized only 5-9 times (who can remember stuff like that)
  • flown in a private jet 4-7 times (again, who can remember the details)
  • hiked Pike's Peak once
  • WANT to hike Machu Picchu
  • fractured my skull....TWICE!!!
  • flew home from one of many trips to Australia with a didgeridoo
  • rollerblading record on South Beach = 7 hours
  • hung out with famous artists...I mean real artists
  • hiked and camped in Big Bend (state & national parks)--great story but one for Melissa, my fab cousin, to tell
  • worked out with a trainer for a year straight (the only ever consistent exercise for mehope to change this soon)
too many to name in one setting but you get the idea:) (none of the videos are my own...just sharing someone else's brilliance)

I've enjoyed each and every phase and looked at each as a new adventure. The thought of working for the same company for 20 years would send me to the nutty farm.
It seems flying by the seat of my pants & seeking out new adventures is my kinda gig.

OK, thanks for listening to my crazy quilt fascination and join me again soon:)

Hugs n Kisses and BIG adventures for YOU

Trish

  1. What an AMAZING life. What a blessing to have been so brave to experience so much of this amazing life our creator has given us... wow!
I admire your tenacity! Wish I could look back and recall half as many adventures. Thank you for sharing! Young women out there... don't hold back; don't be shackled by fear; don't be held back or limited by what others tell you what you should be and what you should do. Follow your dreams and trust in the Lord! It's a sad day when you look back in your mid-60's and see all your wrong turns and the possibilities that "could have been" if not diluted by fear. Fear not, for I am with you, be not dismayed for I AM your God; I will lift you up with my righteous right hand - Isaiah 41:10
