one body…one life….how you livin' it??

You can't walk into Target and get a new "earth suit" when you've worn out the knees in yours.  You better be sure you won't "beat the band" in that size 4 dress you've been eyeing in Mr. Big Department Store if you've been pounding Little Debbies since Easter….you know that's right!

Are you eating healthy?
Do you feel good in your skin?
We get only one body, you know.
one body…one life
what will you do with it?

Conviction knocks at my door with a gentle, yet constant reminder; you are responsible for this body God has given to you.

Have you watched the movies "Fat Sick and Nearly Dead" or "Forks Over Knives"?  Well I have and you'd think that would have arrested me to the point of change.  Fact: I must make a shift.   From fast food and sweets to veggies and health food.  I MUST start thinking of every morsel of food and drink I allow past my lips. (aside from s'mores … they're exempt from any dietary plan I concoct because they're an American Outdoor Adventuring staple….don't mess with my s'more action, y'all )

Here I go again…..down a rabbit trail tossing popcorn.   I could stay here for pages but I digress.

The real reason I wanted you to come by today was to

Turn ordinary into an adventure!

Take grocery shopping for example.  Most times in my every day life I try to approach each new moment as if it were an adventure.  This is one way I personally Live Decorated.

One of the most common adventures I have is

about TIME I try it!!!

Biggest Loser night!  a couple nights late but hey.....I didn't eat a bag of oreo's in the process:) just one oatmeal cream pie.  I mean, who could resist???

There are so very many trails my mind is traveling down tonight; adventuring over new terrain.  I’ve never been this way before or seen that hill before.   Everything looks new and unfamiliar; yet somehow, welcoming.  I’m turning a corner.  More like an “about face” (ahhh, Commander would be so proud of me).   I’m even naming my mental trails.... after those I've ridden on hundreds of times!  The Stables is where I spent all my summers growing up and plan to revisit next month...random side bar!

Ridge Trail:  It MUST be my choice.          I WILL make the move!
My 4 year old you see here runs full steam ahead just about every second of the day.
2 cups of coffee later I'm right there with him:)
talk about "Eye On It", when these boys get anywhere near water they're looking for the biggest rock they can toss in
River Trail:  What if the whole world

its about time for a reboot!!!

My body has been screaming at me for some time now.  Apparently snickers, ice cream, Chick-fil-A and pizza don't make up a balanced diet.  So here I am on Day 4 of my Reboot....and regardless of my energy level now I'm loving how my physical future looks.  The Bible says my body is a temple of the Holy Spirit.....this run down temple is getting a swift kick in the bootay!

The scale says I've lost 5 lbs but I really don't care about numbers...I care how my clothes fit!  And once I've conquered my cravings, reboot my body & my taste buds I'm sure I'll get excited about some form of exercising...then the shopping starts:)

Today at the local Farmer's Market with my family....(find a market near you)

Take care of your body...start exercising today

usually when I record bits for the show I talk way too much, have a hard time editing & it ends up being so much work I end up scrapping it all and not even sharing the video.  Today was MUCH different.  I had my friend Suzanne record me since she was my motivation for even talking about working out and taking care of your body.  You see, she's one of those friends that not only wears work out clothes...she actually uses them...like EVERY DAY!  She actually loves to work out...amazing!

So it took some convincing but she came on the show with me (for a few little seconds).  Also, in light of my husbands advice I shorted my commentary.  I had SO much to tell you about but I forgot MOST of it because I was trying not to talk too much:)  Maybe next time I'll find a happy medium.

Some things I didn't say:  I haven't been taking care of my body much throughout my life and God has been dealing with me on the subject.  Now I've decided to start trying...today.

About my show: I'm shooting for informative, helpful, inspiring, entertaining, funny (in part to my goofiness), and motivational.    I plan on taking you "picking", inviting guests on from time to time, giving you a tour of my art in progress and providing you with tips on how to live a decorated life.

If you stick with me I KNOW you'll see major improvements!  Promise!!!

laughing through a lowercase "c"

Pilates mat class. 6 weeks (ok, I missed the first week) of pure bliss for my bottom!  Bev (my instructor/friend) didn't break a sweat and I'm not convinced the other 9 women there did either.  Me, on the other hand, was not only sweating profusely but grunting, moaning, crying a bit & yes, laughing.  I couldn't control it, I just giggled.  The harder the movement was the more I had to fight off outright laughter.  Bev yells "hang in there, Trish" from the front of the class.  Thanks Bev!
At one point we were doing some "tapping" of our toes; front and back, one leg over the other.  She so perfectly demonstrates how we are to make a "C" with our foot.  My giggles increased as I thought of how my c resembles a lowercase c (at best) in comparison to everyone else's perfectly formed capital C.   And most of these women were mommies of little ones just like me.  Maybe everyone else came out of their "baby bubble" before I did.  (I have some serious catching up to do)

I sure wish there was a guarantee with this class; something like "flatter abs or your money back" kinda thing.

Only 4 weeks left....maybe my bottom will thank me when this is all over by treating me to Likitty's:)

Love the Skin you're in!

A baby & a todder....does that have to mean a decrease in showering?  I mean a decrease in the frequency and quality!!!  Is this normal?  Today in the shower (who knows the last time I had a REAL GOOD scrub down) I started singing "love the skin you're in" and God spoke to me again today---similar to yesterday ....which I haven't even added that blog yet----I should be taking care of this body o' mine.  Yesterday I hit a turning point in my weightloss attempt; I actually started it!!!!  So after a 4 mile walk around town lake with my girlfriends from church I came home, put the boys to bed & detailed my car....I mean every inch of that thing, well at least as far as Koko's nap allowed.  While washing the car God told me it was also important for me to take care of the things He had given me.  my car, my house, my amazing family, etc.  I pray He'll help me to fully grasp what this means regarding daily duties, habits, reactions, etc.
So back to the shower, while signing my new "love the skin you're in" tune I decided its time to take care of this body for really the first time in my life.  Having always been skinny all my life, having 2 little wonderful boys has really put my body into a funky spin.  I have no idea what I weigh because I don't have a scale:)  I don'e believe anyone really needs one, you know if you're fit & healthy.  You feel good.  Back to my point: when I get back into my size 6 jeans I'll know I've turned a point.  This point I speak of is actually dying to self.  Giving God control & choosing to discipline my flesh....actually saying NO when my flesh wants that entire bag of cookies!!!!  or GET ON IT when I walk by our borrowed eliptical machine (I did it today by the way:).  Ok, so you get my point....take care of what God has given YOU.  It is still His really, the way I see it is everything I have is seed.  If He tells me to give it, its gone.  I only ask that He tell me who to give what to...ya know?  Then I know that seed is blessed & returning a great harvest.

Oh, so really back to my point....shower!  everyday!!!!
